Have you ever been to Cape Clear in Cape Breton a tracker for the Govermnent told us it was the highest point and we were there a few years ago.

Hi, Anne

No, I haven't been to Cape Clear (although a quick reveals it to be quite a scenic place).   According to the topo maps of the area, Cape Clear seems to be at 400m ASL.   White Hill is 537m ASL, which is over 400 vertical feet higher.   So, unless the topo map I'm looking at is wrong, Cape Clear can't be the highest point in N.S.

Hey There,

Awesome pics of the White Hill trek and all the golden informations that makes me think I can do this trip solo hands down providing I follow all the advise and valuable informations on this almost of a Walkthrough and watered down information provided.

I am so dying to go to this place and was wondering if anyone would like to join me. I am willing to walk all day providing I have a partner who would also do so.

If anyone is interested and like a company, send me a mail please to Kiruban@gmail.com with the subject "White Hill".

I would so appreciate it someone could make this wish come true. I live close to downtown Halifax and if you are closeby, we could get together, put together a small plan and execute it one fine day.

If Jenn would like to venture there again...Let me know and I will tag along in a heartbeat. E-mail me please...

 Thanks.

Thank you for your post, Kiruban.    Jenn and I live far away from Nova Scotia, so it will be more likely for you to find someone more local to accompany you.   I suggest trying to find some sort of Nova Scotia (or perhaps even Cape Breton)-specific hiking newsgroup or forum, and post there.   That might increase your chances of locating a hiking partner.

You are quite right, though - if you have a decent amount of stamina and you perform the orienteering properly, it is possible for you (and hopefully a companion) to do this.
