The final treat is a wonderful extensive open area at the west end of Pitchoff. We take a huge number of pictures here. The sun even comes out briefly, spotlighting us with a bit of extra warmth. We take a non-official way down (resulting in some annoying bushwacking), eventually regaining the trail below the open terrain.
