Mount Adams sits just to the southwest of the main High Peaks region. It is accessed from the upper works area. The trailhead is just about a km or so before the end of the upper works road. Although Mount Adams is fully treed on its summit, there is an old unused fire tower on it. As of 2005, it is actually in pretty good shape, with some recent repairs evident. The view of the high peaks from its observation deck is excellent, and offers an interesting, closeup, and different perspective on the high peaks. You can also see the old MacIntyre mine works close by. The trail up to Mount Adams is steep but quite short - less than 4km.
